Terms of service

These pre-release terms define the responsible use of Citeply and the human review required for every customer-facing claim.

Last updated 3 August 2026

1. Agreement and pre-release status

These terms govern access to Citeply. Citeply is currently a pre-release product and is not yet offered as a production subscription. Commercial use will require an order or service agreement that identifies the contracting parties, price, service level, support terms, and applicable law. If that agreement conflicts with these terms, the signed agreement controls.

2. Authorized use

A user may access Citeply only for an organization that has authorized that access. The user must keep credentials secure, follow organizational policies, and process only documents and personal information they are permitted to use. Access may not be sold, shared, reverse engineered, disrupted, used to bypass security controls, or used for unlawful activity.

3. Customer content and Microsoft 365

Customers retain their rights in questionnaires, evidence, answers, and other content they provide. They authorize Citeply to process that content only as needed to provide the selected features. Microsoft 365 access is also governed by the customer's Microsoft agreements and administrator policies. The customer is responsible for permissions, source quality, and lawful instructions.

4. Human review and no unsupported claims

Citeply assists with evidence retrieval, response drafting, citations, and workbook mapping. It does not provide legal, audit, certification, or compliance advice. Suggested answers must be reviewed by an authorized person before they are approved or delivered. Customers remain responsible for the truth, completeness, scope, and contractual effect of every response.

Citeply is designed to abstain when approved evidence is unavailable. Users must not disable, misrepresent, or work around that control to create unsupported security claims.

5. Confidentiality and security

Production confidentiality, security, incident notification, deletion, and data-processing commitments will be set out in the applicable commercial agreement. Users must promptly report suspected unauthorized access and avoid uploading secrets that are not required for the workflow.

6. Availability and changes

Pre-release features may change, be interrupted, or be withdrawn. Citeply may suspend access to protect the service, users, or third parties. Material production changes will be communicated under the service agreement.

7. Warranties and liability

During evaluation, Citeply is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law. No promise is made that a suggested answer, citation, or workbook output will be error-free or satisfy a customer's legal, audit, security, or contractual obligations. Production warranty disclaimers and liability limits will be stated in the signed commercial agreement.

8. Termination

Evaluation access can be ended for breach, security risk, legal requirement, or discontinuation of the preview. The production agreement will define export, deletion, and transition periods.

9. Contact

Questions may be sent to support@citeply.com after the domain-based mailbox is activated. Do not rely on this address until it has been confirmed as live.
